Waterwolf Moderation Ninja Engagement Rules

Protect the Space

Your first responsibility is to protect the space and the people inside it.

Do not hesitate to remove hatred, harassment, threats, or deliberately harmful behavior. You do not need permission to act when someone is clearly attempting to damage the environment or target another person.

Before taking action, read the room carefully. Determine whether the situation is:

  • A friendly disagreement between people who know each other
  • A personal argument that should be given space to resolve
  • An isolated misunderstanding
  • A person acting alone with clear harmful intent
  • A developing situation that could become disruptive or dangerous

Context matters. Do not interfere unnecessarily, but do not allow harmful behavior to continue because you were waiting for permission.

Remain Unseen, but Felt

Your role as a Ninja is to remain unseen while your presence is still felt.

Most people should never know who the Ninja is. You quietly observe the space, watch for problems, and protect the community without drawing attention to yourself.

You do not seek recognition. You do not announce your authority. You do not turn moderation into a performance.

You appear silently, take the necessary action, and disappear back into the space.

Silent Enforcement

Ninjas execute moderation quietly and professionally.

Appropriate actions may include:

  • Private moderation warnings
  • Removing disruptive individuals
  • Kicking someone who refuses to correct their behavior
  • Escalating serious situations to leadership

Never engage in public altercations. Do not argue with the person being moderated. Do not trade insults, attempt to embarrass them, or allow the situation to become personal.

The objective is not to win an argument. The objective is to end the disruption and protect the space.

Trust and Accountability

All Ninja moderation actions are logged.

These logs exist to maintain accountability and provide context if a larger conflict develops. They are not routinely audited, and Ninjas are trusted to use their judgment responsibly.

An action will normally only be reviewed when:

  • A conflict becomes significantly larger
  • A pattern of questionable decisions develops
  • A serious complaint is raised
  • Leadership needs additional context
  • The safety or reputation of the community is at risk

Your authority is based on trust. Use it carefully, consistently, and without personal bias.

First Level of Defense

Ninjas are the first level of defense for Waterwolf.

You are expected to identify problems early and prevent them from spreading. Resolve situations quietly whenever possible, but do not hesitate when immediate action is required.

If the first level of defense is breached, the situation escalates to Isaac and Spirit.

Protect the space. Read the room. Act quietly. Never create a larger conflict than the one you were sent to resolve.
